HEALTHY PRACTICES
INDUCTION MEETING
The freshers are accorded
welcome at the beginning of each session to inculcate a
sense of duty and responsibility in them. The Academic
schedule, examination system, hostel facilities and rules
and regulations of the college are explained to them.
DRESS CODE
The students and the staff
follow a uniform dress code.
PERSONAL
RESUME OF TEACHERS
The teachers of the college
record their personal resume, curricular and
extra-curricular activities on day-to-day basis in a printed
diary to monitor their activities. They submit annual C.C.R.
to the Principal on the basis of the personal resume.
WEEKLY
SEMINARS
Every department holds its
weekly seminars on Saturdays.
NCC (Army & Naval
Wings)
The college has separate
wings of NCC(Army) for boys and girls and a Naval Wing for
boys.
NSS
There are two units of NSS
for boys and girls.
YOUTH RED CROSS
The Youth Red Cross unit of
the college conducts blood donation, health check-up and
Disaster Management camps, different awareness programmes on
Aids and Cancer, etc. It also runs a Health Centre in the
college.
EXTRA-MURAL LECTURES
Eminent speakers on different
areas are invited to speak on burning topics.
PROFESSORS’ CLUB
Known as the Pragy`an Chakra,
it invites eminent personalities to exchange ideas on
intellectual and academic topics. The club also organizes
competitions, picnics, annual drama and get-together
programmes for the teaching staff to develop a sense of
unity and brotherliness.
DRAMATIC AND
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The Dramatic Society
organizes drama, music and dance competitions among the
students. The Students’ Council and other Associations
organise debate, essay, quiz, G.K., art and creativity
competitions. A Cultural Week is observed, where the winners
are awarded prizes and trophies.
FAKIR MOHAN NATYA PARISHAD
Unique of its kind, it is a
recognized cultural association, which organizes cultural
functions and annual drama, where the teaching and the
non-teaching staff participate.
YOGA EDUCATION
A Yoga teacher is engaged to
teach yoga to the students and staff daily in the morning
hours to improve the moral-ethical-physical attributes of
the participants.
STUDENTS’ FEED
BACK
The passing out students are
asked to make an assessment of the Course contents, Campus
experience and performance of teachers on a graded scale.
Their confidential assessments are thoroughly analyzed after
declaration of the results and communicated to the teachers
concerned. These assessments serve as a feed back for
further improvement.
ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The Academic Calendar
provided to the students at the beginning of the academic
session makes them aware of teaching and examination
schedules of various courses. Normally the schedule is
strictly adhered to.
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
An active and vibrant Alumni
Association with a permanent office inside the college
campus takes kin interest in the academic, infrastructure
and all-round development of the college. The Association
awards students and former teachers excelling in academics,
sports and other activities.
